Post-16 Courses
We are a relatively small Sixth Form, but we offer a wide range of courses and we work closely with students to ensure courses suit their needs and abilities. Students may study 4 straight A Levels and others may choose Level 3 BTEC options or a mixture of both. We also offer GCSE re—sit in both English and Mathematics for students who have not yet attained a Grade 4 (our Springboard course). There are also opportunities to take part in work experience placements. All students study full time, which requires an agreed programme to include a minimum of approximately 600 hours of timetabled activities throughout Year 12 and 13.
As a general guide, the minimal entry requirements into Sixth Form are 5 level 9-4 grades at GCSE, with at least a level 5 in the specific subjects students wish to continue, or in subjects with similar skills in the case of new subjects. Maths, Sciences and Languages all require a minimum of a level 6 grade at GCSE in relevant subjects.
All subjects are offered subject to there being sufficient interest and are, therefore, not guaranteed, as yet, for 2018-19.
In 2018-2019 we will be offering courses in the following subjects (please click on the subject for more information on each course):
Core Maths (an AS equivalent qualification)
EPQ (an AS equivalent qualification)
